Jazz Combos Concert

YSU Jazz Combos Feature Jazz Classics and Music of YSU Students

 On Thursday, October 26, 2023, the YSU Jazz Studies Area will present a Jazz Quintet led by Dave Morgan and a Jazz Quintet led by Dave Kana in the Spotlight Theater in Bliss Hall on the YSU campus beginning at 7:30 p.m.  Morgan’s quartet will feature a program of Jazz Classics including “Joshua” by Victor Feldman, “Nica’s Dream” by Horace Silver, “For Jan” by Kenny Wheeler, “Stablemates” by Benny Golson, and “Do I Crazy” by John Scofield.  Kana’s group will perform music by Charlie Parker, Masoyoshi Tanaka, Black Sabbath, Pearl Jam, and Toby Fox as arranged by Zach Fleischman, Devin Zerjav, Carter Ulery and graduate student M.J. Ferrence.  The event is free and open to the public.
